I had an amazing time at with Vanessa and James wedding and loved being their wedding photographer. I met up with the couple before the wedding for a pre-wedding shoot on the beach near Holkham. I offer pre-wedding shots for all my couples and I see it as a valuable part of wedding photography. It’s a great way to meet up before the day and get to know one another a little better, and allow couples to become more used to being in front of the camera, taking away an awkwardness they may feel about being photographed on their wedding day. It also means we get some awesome portrait shots as they begin their new chapter together. Although my style is mainly natural documentary photography, couples shots are an important part of the day and I’m told again and again that my couples are so pleased I did some portraits, even if they had reservations before. I prefer to grab a few moments with the couple throughout the wedding day when we can slip away and get some awesome shots, and then get them back to their guests before they’ve even noticed they slipped off. This also gives my couples a few moments together away from their guests to really take in how awesome what has just happened truly is.
On their wedding day, James and Vanessa they married in the jaw-dropping grandeur of Norwich Cathedral, and we managed to grab a few portrait shots before heading in a vintage car to their reception venue of Bradsteds Norwich. Brasteds is a cool venue that is surrounded by fields and woodlands. Couples who marry there can choose to do so inside or out. During the speeches, Vanessa was presented with her very own Norwich City Football Club shirt by her lifelong Norwich City supporting new husband. Despite the gift, Vanessa showed good humour! As the sun began to set we headed outside for some portraits and the couple enjoyed some quiet together time before returning to their family and friends and partying the night away! What a party!
