This was my first time as a Childerley Hall wedding photographer, and I certainly hope it isn’t the last! Seriously, this is without doubt one of my all-time favourite weddings for so many different reasons. For starters there’s the awesome Charlotte + Alex, a couple that make you feel so comfortable with them, you leave them wondering how on earth you’ve only known them for the two hours prior to the wedding!
Now with Alex being a MasterChef finalist and owner of the successful Hole in the Wall, food was incredibly important for their Childerley Hall wedding, so they went out and drummed up the best street food practitioners Cambridgeshire has to offer! So in came Steak & Honour, handing out burgers, fries and hotdogs (and secret mac and cheese), Pata Negra providing huge platters of Parma ham, Manchego cheese and Marcona almonds on each of the tables, The Wandering Yak, offering veggie mezze boxes and falafel, and Jack’s Gelato creating bespoke ice-creams for afters.
On top of all that, there managed to be a treasure hunt in the grounds of Childerley Hall during the reception; a deeply moving Humanist ceremony in the barn, an amazing student brass band; and some of the most emotional and heartfelt speeches I’ve encountered. I hope you enjoy!
