Lil and Jim’s Highcliffe Castle Wedding in Dorset was a stupendously brilliant day. It was a glorious weekend last summer when I made the long drive south to be their Highcliffe Castle wedding photographer although that didn’t last throughout the wedding day and it rained most of the afternoon after their ceremony. That certainly didn’t dampen their spirits though and I imagine one of the best things about Highcliffe Castle is that it really doesn’t matter what the weather does!
I don’t think Lil and Jim’s Highcliffe Castle wedding photography is what you would call traditional, and they’re certainly not the most traditional of couples! Instead of a first dance they had a ‘boat race’ where they lined up in two teams – bride and groom – and each person had to down half a pint, with the next person in line not starting until the previous person had finished. This was utterly hilarious, and impressively hardly a drop was spilt and Lil’s team *just* won!
I massively enjoyed being a Highcliffe Castle wedding photographer, not least because it gave me a chance to create some super cool portraits down on the beach and to spend the weekend with these two incredible people and their wonderful family and friends. I can’t wait for my next trip down to the Dorset coast!
